The Strand Theatre launched on April 5, 1920 as a new build facility at the corner of Center Street and Orchard Street. The Strand Theatre was sold with the new operators converting it to sound in 1929.
The Strand Theatre closed at the end of a 20-year lease in 1939. After three years of vacancy, it reopened during World War II in 1942 as the Victory Theatre. George H. Wilkinson, Jr., of the Wilkinson Theatre operated both the Victory Theatre and Wilkinson Theatre until 1954.
Wikinson sold the Victory Theatre to local businessmen Charles Thomas and Harold Granucci. They tore down the Victory Theatre in favor of a business block. Wilkinson continued to operate the Wilkinson Theatre until May of 1967 when it was closed and also torn down.
