Capitol Filmtheater am Moritzplatz

The Palst Lichtspiele was opened in 1921 with 450-seats in orchestra and balcony levels. It was operated by Max Kullenmann. In 1927 it was re-named Capitol Lichtspiele. In 1940 it was re-named Capitol Filmtheater am Moritzplatz. The cinema was closed in 1944 due to wartime conditions, but the building survived the damages of World War II.

It was re-opened in 1949. The E VII projectors were by Ernemann. In 1956 a CinemaScope screen was added. In 1978 Maja Bedzin took over the operation. In 1989 it was operated by City Filmtheaterbetrieb Konstanz. Following the opening of a multiplex cinema in Augsburg, the Capitol Filmtheater am Moritzplatz was closed around 1998. The cinema was converted into a restaurant.
