This theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, in the westernmost storefront of the Spencer Block, a large three-story brick structure with a stone front built sometime between 1893 and 1896. On the 1905 map, the western two thirds of the building are a carriage repository, but this space has been divided by 1911. The structure was fairly deep, going all the way to the alley in the rear (which can still be seen across the street). The theatre was likely only on the ground floor. The entire third floor was used as some sort of fraternal hall.
The Mecca Theatre was listed as open in 1914. It did not last long, and by 1920 the space is a car dealer. At some point after 1952, this entire portion of the block was destroyed for a huge ugly jail.
