The Jefferson Theatre was opened on November 1, 1906 with the musical play “Wonderland”. It was designed by architect George H. Johnston, possibly assisted by John Eberson who had worked with him for several years. Seating was provided for 500 on the main floor, 350 on the 2nd floor and 300 on the 3rd floor. There were 52 seats in boxes. The stage was 40ft deep and there were sixteen dressing rooms. It had closed by 1926.
