The Assauer Lichtspielhaus was opened in 1929. It was operated by Heinrich Assauer. The size of the screen was 6x10 meters. After 1941 the cinema was badly damaged by Allied bombs during World War II
The Assauer Lichtspielhaus was repaired and re-opened on 6th August 1948. The size of the stage was 10x6x10 meters. In 1955 a CinemaScope screen was added and a new 4-channel stereophonic sound system was installed. FH 66 projectors were by Frieske & Hoepfnew. The seats were by Kamphoener.
The Assauer Lichtspielhaus was closed in the late-1960’s and was converted into a supermarket.
