This is one out of the four theatres in Headland, AL which opened in 1928, this one as the Royal Theatre. Previously before the Royal Theatre, the city of Headland used to have the Dreamland Theatre and the Pastime Theatre. In the summer of 1936, the Royal Theatre changed its name to the Joyce Theatre and was remained a popular theatre for the city of Headland for a bit more than 2 decades. CinemaScope was installed at the Joyce Theatre in September 1954 and the Joyce Theatre ended up closing its doors on December 21, 1958 with Frank Sinatra in “Kings Go Forth”.

The final programme was Kings Go Forth on Dec. 21st 1958 I believe the cinema was located at 1 S.Main St. at the junction of S. Main St. and E. Main St. (formerly the location of the Headland Hotel). Structure has been demolished.
