The Eris Theatre opened its doors on July 1st, 1947 after a public announcement was sent to the Enterprise-Chronicle 5 days prior to its opening day according to the manager Mr. Frank Nail. It was located not too far from the former Rex Theatre which operated until 1951.
The original phone number for the Rex Theatre was sent to the Eris Theatre later that year while the Eris Theatre became more popular for Goodwater between 1948 and into the 1950’s, and CinemaScope was installed at the Eris Theatre on November 18th, 1954. Unfortunately, the closing date was nowhere to be found. The latest information I can find is a 1957 showing, but the theatre did not appear in the Coosa Press in 1962.
