Located on the south side of Public Square. The Forrest Picture Theatre in Boonville was opened in summer of 1907. By 1926 it was known as the Forrest Theatre. By 1937 it had been renamed Ritz Theatre, and was shared in ownership throughout the years with the Rex Theatre which opened in 1942. The Ritz Theatre was much larger than the Rex Theatre. It was still in operation since 1965.
