The Sydney Myer Music Bowl(in Kings Domain Gardens) opened on 12th February 1959. Used as a live & concert venue. Occasionally used as an outdoor cinema(sitting on the grass accomodates 7,000 to 10,000). The Australian music group The Seekers played a concert in 1967 to an audience that estimated to be over 200,000 people(biggest concert in Australia?). Also has on Christmas Eve, the Carols by candlelight concert(Melbourne was the place in the World to have christmas carols by candlelight, starting in 1938, starting in Alexandra Gardens), moving to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in 1959.

Melbourne had the first Carols by candlelight concert in the World. I think there is some permadent seat, right in front of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl(number of seats unknown?)?
Named after Sidney Myer who founded the Myer Department Stores.

2030 fixed seats, and 10,000 on the grass.
It is listed on tne Victorian Heritage register.

The design of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl was inspired by the Hollywood Bowl in California, USA.
The concert that the Australian music group The Seekers played in March 1967 during the Moomba Festival estimated to have been watched by a crowd of over 200,000 people(still a Guinness World Record for the biggest number of people at a concert in Australia and the southern hemisphere too). RIP. Judith Durham(The Seekers). π€πΆππΏπ
Looks like a “live” venue only. What is the evidence to support listing at Cinema Tresures?
