Village Cinemas Cranbourne

Located at the back of the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre, Originally opened by Village Cinemas in late-1988 as a 4 screen site. It was closed after only 6 months, Century Cinemas bought the site and reopened on 16th of December 1992. Century added a 5th screen around 1994 and operated the site until 17th of July 1997 when Village bought it back and took over operations again. Village Cinemas closed the complex on 11th of May 2005 leaving the growing south eastern suburbs of Melbourne without a cinema.

I saw many films here in the 1990’s and when it was run by Century they actually had hot melted butter for the popcorn, I miss this place!
