Billboard wrote on October 24, 1953, “Pines Drive-In at Nacodoches, Tex., recently observed its first anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McFarland are the operators.”
The 1952-53 Motion Picture Almanac included Nagodoches' Pines Drive-In with a capacity of 360 cars, owner J. B. Oliphant. It had closed by the mid-1960’s

Billboard, Nov. 1, 1952: “Kenneth McFarland Jr. and A. M. Riley are new owners-operators of Pines Drive-In, Nacogdoches, Tex. They plan a renovating program, which includes a new glass block ticket office, changable letter sign, a patio which will seat about 50 persons, new all-metal fence and resurfacing of the parking area.”
It appears that I found it. It is located on 2709 South St, Nacogdoches, TX 75964.
If the Pines was at 2709 South Street, it didn’t last all that long.
A 1955 aerial shows the drive-in intact and operational. What’s interesting is that the screen does not sit parallel to the road, but rather at an angle that causes it to face more to the southeast.
By 1976, it was not only demolished, but a few large trees have grown where the screen once stood.
Trees take time to get to be that size, so I believe the drive-in probably closed at least a decade earlier. However, the rest of the property was well kept.
Today, a couple of businesses sit on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
