On August 4, 1951, Boxoffice reported, “C. A. W. Schiege has opened his new Round Top Drive-In near the town of Round Top”. That note was echoed in the September 15, 1951 issue of Billboard.
The initials stood for Charles Adolph William. Mr. Schiege passed away at the age of 56 on February 9, 1953.
The October 10, 1953 Billboard wrote, “Round Top Drive-In has been reopened at La Grange, Tex., by Herbert H. Rehmann. The drive-in was previous owned and operated by the late C. A. W. Schiege”. The Round Top Drive-In was still open in 1957.
