Sky-Vue Drive-In

Billboard reported on August 29, 1953: “New drive-in at Taber, Alta., is the 300-car Sky-Vue Drive-In, owned and operated by Miller Theatres, Ltd., Taber. Douglas Miller is president and his son, Leo, is vice-president and manager. The 1955 Motion Picture Almanac also included the Sky Vue Drive-In in Taber, owner D. Miller.

A June 27, 2018 retrospective in the Taber Times wrote that Miller built the drive-in one mile west of town “at the southeast corner of the intersection where the Vauxhall Highway entered No.3. July 29, 1953 was grand opening night for the Sky-Vue Drive-In. "The Lawless Breed” starring Rock Hudson and Julia Adams was the first movie to be shown there". The Times said the Sky-Vue Drive-In closed on April 5, 1975 after a fire gutted the projection / concession building. A farm equipment supplier occupies the site today.
