This small, narrow nickelodeon opened by September 1914 on W. Montrose Avenue near N. Christiana Avenue for the Alfred Hamburger chain. By 1922 it was called the New Albany Theatre, and was open until at least 1929. In 1930 it was closed for remodling and it reopened mid-December 1931 as the New Montrose Theatre. It had closed by 1933.
Much later, the Albany Theatre saw a rebirth of sorts, as it was by the 1960’s a film studio. Until recently, the building housed an import/wholesale shop, but is now vacant.

I live just a few blocks from there and recently too photos of it. The import/wholesale shop appears to be closed; the building looks vacant. Hope that doesn’t mean another teardown is imminent.
