Village 4 Parramatta Opening

The Village 4 was opened on 16th December 1975 in the Westfield Shopping Centre. It had 1,463 seats. Later renamed Village 8 (1,726 seats) in 1996 after a redevelopment and expansion of the shopping centre. Closed in 2005 when a new cinema complex opened elsewhere in another expansion of the shopping centre (opened as a Greater Union as Village had moved out of N.S.W. GU is now Event Cinemas). Village Cinemas was demolished in the remodel of the centre.

@baysidepete . Great photos of the Interior. 1st Film i saw there was Mad Max 2 back in early 1982 and the last would have been Platoon in 1986/87. Great Sound and the screens were quite large. Foyer area was quite small and the stairs coming of church st were very steep. Good Memories.
