A 1964 aerial shows the property without anything built in site, but a 1969 aerial shows the theater completely in operation. Also to note is that a 1968 topo also shows the theater being listed.

Closed in September 1980. The screen was demolished in 1982.

Do you have any information on when it opened and the other details on the Castle? I think MichaelKilgore has the history somewhere.

A closer address is 7380 U.S. 51, Minocqua, WI.

The buildings on the property today appear to be “Beck’s Quality Cabinets, Inc”. Some of the trees on the property show where some of the ramps of the drive-in were located.

The building in front appear to be a “Home Decor …” something and not a radio station. The building behind it I do not know.

But nothing remains of the drive-in save for a few ramps. The drive-in was intact in 1981. By 1992 it had been demolished and was overgrown until some of the land was cleared by 2013.

Unclear, but could be. The tower sits right next to the former concession building. A handful of parking traces were still seen today.

Is the radio station still operating inside the old concession stand building?

WMQA is now known as “95.9 The Island”, an adult contemporary formatted station since June 14, 2021.
