Located in the Lowfield district to the south of the city centre. A conversion of a roller skating rink, the Olympia Electric Palace Picture House was opened on 21st September 1911 with almost 2,000-seats. It had an attractive façade, typical of early entertainment buildings, with swags and garlands of fruit decorating the plasterwork. Its opening programme included film of a heavyweight boxing match.
It was a short lived cinema, which closed 3-weeks after opening when it was converted back into the Olympia Roller Skating Rink. It was later used as a bus garage and later workshops. It was demolished in the 1990’s.
