Film Studio im Gluckauf Haus Essen

The Gluckauf Lichtspiele was opened in 1924 and was operated by Deuli Film AG Berlin. The architect was Ernst Bode. It was badly damaged by Allied bombs during World War II.

In 1949 it was repaired and re-opened. In 1985 it was operated by Menz and around that time it was re-named Film Studio im Gluckauf Haus. The theatre contained a Gulbransson organ. The size of the screen was 30 square metres. In 2001 the building was demolished, but rebuilt and re-opened in 2009 The cinema is a listed monument. The cinema is a part of the Essener Filmkunst Theater chain
