Located in the small southern German town of Schwabisch Gmund to the east of Stuttgart. The Turm Theatre Lichtspiele was opened in 1952 as a single screen cinema with 930-seats, which were manufactured by Kampphoener. It was operated by Filmtheater Betriebe Huttenlocher & Soehne based in Goeppingen. The E X projectors were bt Ernemann. In 1956 CinemaScope was added and a 4-channel stereophonic sound system was installed. Around 1980 the cinema was divided into 3 screens.
In 2002 the Hawaraton Lino GmbH took over. The company also took over the Rex Filmtheater/RFC Kino Center located next door and connected both cinemas with a lobby. The new miniplex was named Turm Theater Center Kino with 5-screens. Seating was provided for 345, 200, 100, 145 & 170. The architect was Ruf-Nitsch & Pfeifer.
In 2018 Traumpalast Lochmann Filmtheater Betriebe took over and closed it for renovation. It was re-opened on 12th December 2019 and re-named Traumpalast Schwabisch Gmund which has its own page on Cinema Treasures.

The entrance to this theatre has been relocated at the Tuerlensteg 29 of the neighboring newly built complex. The old entrance is now occupied by a restaurant, the the building itself still stands but the core was taken out to build new screens inside the old shell.
