Eagle Luxe Reel Theatre

Known as the filming location for Clint Eastwood’s 1980 film “Bronco Billy", Eagle, Idaho, about 10 miles from Boise, was previously overshadowed by other towns in the Treasure Valley. Things change in 39 years and Eagle in 2019, with a population of over 28,000 and growing, is coming into its own.

Reel Theatres recognized the housing boom and opened Eagle’s first theatre November 23, 2019, at The Bridges At Lakemoor with 11 screens and 692 seats. Reel Theatres, once just a discount operation confined to older locations, became a first run operation with the opening of the Luxe Reel Theatre, Caldwell in June 2018. Reel’s sub-run operations in Boise won’t be going away as in October 2019 they renewed the lease for one of their two locations in Boise.

No food service here. Paul Stephens, an official of the development company, Hawkins Companies, said to KTVB: “People don’t want to maybe be interrupted nine or 10 times during a movie. What they will have is all recliner seating, big wide seats that you can lay back".

Reel Theatres notes the designers were Trey Hoff Architects of Boise and Walt Gantt of Kenney Lee Architecture Group in Loveland, Colorado.
