The Sky Hi Drive-In opened with a single screen and first appeared in the Motion Picture Almanac’s drive-in lists in the 1968 or 1969 edition. The 1979 MPA still listed the Sky Hi Drive-In with a single screen. It was operated by Leonard Steele by 1980, capacity 275. A second screen had been added in 1977 and a 1980 aerial photo showed that the Sky Hi Drive-In had been twinned, but subsequent MPAs never included the capacity of the second, slightly smaller lot; I’d guess it was about 225.
The Sky Hi Drive-In was included in the final MPA list in 1988. A 1994 aerial showed it intact and possibly active. It was completely gone by a 2006 aerial.

Here’s when the Sky Hi got its second screen, also capacity 275?
Boxoffice, Dec. 13, 1976: “William Semple and Leonard Steele have started construction on a twin addition to the Sky Hi Drive-In, Gillette, Wyo. The new ozoner will have a 275-car capacity. The twin drive-in brings the total number of screens in Gillette to five.”
I’ll post this here, even though I can’t find any other evidence that Gillette had a drive-in in the 1950s.
Boxoffice, Oct. 5, 1957: “GILLETTE, Wyo. – A couple of deer actually stopped the show at the local drive-in theatre recently. A buck and doe deer retreated to the drive-in, where they stood in front of the screen, blocking the film. The projectionist finally had to turn off the machines, while patrons chased the deer away so the show could continue.”
