On January 8, 1955, Motion Picture Herald reported, “Carl Schaffer, owner of the Pastime Theatre, Broadus, Mont., opens 300-seat Tug Theatre, Ashland, Mont., opening that town to pictures”.
Perhaps the Tug Theatre didn’t last long. A classified advertisement in the October 4, Billings Gazette read, “FOR SALE - Tug Theater, Ashland, Mont. $25,000. Terms 20% down, monthly payment on balance. Write Box 355, or phone 336-9393, manager, Broadus, Mont”. The Tug Theatre never made it into the listings of Film Daily Yearbook.
