The Chief Theatre was opened by 1943. On October 9, 1948, Motion Picture Herald noted, “Harold E. Wilson closed the Chief Theatre, La Veta, Colo”.
The 1949 Film Daily Year Book listed La Veta’s Chief with 225 seats. It was remodeled in June 1952 and was renamed Spur Theatre. It was still open in 1957.
