Named after the famous Australian ballet dancer Sir Robert Helpmam(1909 – 1986), who was born in Mount Gambier, he was also in the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang(playing the child catcher), and also released a single(Surfer Doll) in 1964. Robert Helpman also had a performing arts award named after in 2001(The Helpman Awards), Australia’s version of the Tony Awards.
