The Fairview Cinema 1 & 2 opened by the Bloomer Amusement Company (B-A-C Theatres) on August 29, 1973 with “Paper Moon” and “Oklahoma Crude”. Each screen had 250-seats.
When the nearby Wehrenburg Saint Clair 10 Cine opened May 1986, the Fairview Cinema struggled to compete and on May 1987 while showing “The Secret Of My Success” in one of the screens during a first run, the theatre changed to a second run policy and kept that film for 4 more weeks…but it failed to get any new business.
With no fanfare, it quietly closed after showing “House 2” and “Revenge Of The Nerds 2: Nerds of Paradise” on October 4 1987
Its currently a discount mattress and furniture center.
