The Mutual Theatre was launched February 7, 1917 in downtown Meeker, Oklahoma by the Mutual Theatre Co. The theatre was primarily a movie theatre although opened with a live play and hosted local live events in addition to films.
The Mutual Theatre converted to sound and had many ownership changes in the 1920’s and 1930’s. A 1934 ownership change brought about a name change to the Rex Theatre. The Rex Theatre appears to have closed by the early-1940’s.
