It looks like 8, 9, 13 and 14 are closed for new seating
Tickets for Gladiator 2 at the IMAX screen were $31.50 each. And the screen lighting was not even at full capacity. What an expensive joke.
Per an employee at the theater, they’re updating to put recliners in every auditorium. Theaters 8 and 9 are currently not operational and had their regular seats demolished/taken down. Recliners expected to be in at some point in 2025. Don’t know how I feel about this as I think capacity is kind of an issue in that theater and recliners reduce that capacity.
The only ones with masking is Theatre 13 and 14
I think one of the screens on the second floor does have properly functioning masking as I’ve seen it go off sometimes but a lot of the screens definitely do not use the masking.
2024 Update: Theater doesn’t hit the cleaning lights anymore while people are watching credits, since post covid. Also post covid, theater no longer masks the screens. All theaters have it set in one position. Theaters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 13 and 14 are all set to scope. Flat movies will show with bars on the sides. Theaters 8 and 9 are set to flat. So scope movies will show black bars on top and bottom. Theater 10 is RPX and has a fixed flat floating screen. Scope shows with black bars on top and bottom. Theater 12 is IMAX and has a fixed flat floating screen. Scope movies will show black bars on top and bottom too. Theater 6 is supposed to be a flat screen (since they aren’t enabling the masking feature) but they still have the masking on the sides wide open, which makes the flat movies show bars on sides and scope movies show with bars on sides AND on top and bottom!
Please update, IMAX Auditorium #12 open on November 7, 2008 with Madagascar: Escape to Africa
This location will receive an IMAX Laser upgrade, being one of the busiest for Regal in the nation.
“The upgraded theatres announced today will include IMAX’s groundbreaking laser technology and 12-channel immersive sound system, as well as enhancements including luxury plush rocker seating, redesigned entryways and in-theatre branding. The theatres span some of Regal and IMAX’s most longstanding and high-performing locations across New York, California, Texas, and Georgia, including the Regal Edwards Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, CA; Regal UA Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, NY; and the Regal Edwards Houston Marq*E.” https://www.imax.com/content/cineworld-group-and-imax-expand-partnership-agreement-15-new-imax-laser-systems-regal
I haven’t heard of ushers or security guards telling people to leave during the end credits before(very rude).
Please update the 5 screen expansion to 14 screens was completed on June 7, 2002
Just uploaded a photo of the way the Movie opened in 1987.
This theatre opened on May 20, 1987 as a nine plex. It wasn’t 10 screens when it opened, please correct. When the theatre opened, it had 4 screens Dolby Stereo and 1 70MM. In the 1980, United Artists was very cheap in putting Dolby Stereo in their theatres. Half would be MONO. In 1999, theatres 5 and 6 got Ultra Stereo. The location finally got all digital sound in 2002. Sometime in late 2000, United Artists expanded the complex to 14 screens with stadium seating in 12 of the 14 screens. UA closed off sections of theatres 1 to 9 between 2000 and 2002. Each screen lost about 100 seats. Theatres 10 to 14 was added to the complex, with theatres 13 and 14 on the 2nd floor. UA did not make theatres 8 and 9 stadium seating due to the theatres very narrow. The work was completed in the summer of 2002 with a new parking garage next to the theatre. Also the address is 3907 Shore Parkway, that were the original entrance was. Once the work was completed to 14 screens, the entrance is now on Harkness Avenue side.
Please update the history of the theatre. IMAX was added in 2008 and sometime in 2010 or 2011 RPX.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cineworld-group-and-imax-expand-partnership-with-agreement-for-15-new-imax-with-laser-systems-in-regal-theatres-300890229.html This press release says the imax here is being upgraded to laser. I personally think this one doesn’t really need a laser, but that’s just me.
Stay away from this theatre, ushers and security guard dosen’t care about the patrons reading the credits. The usher put on the flood lights in theatre 5. The usher and the security guard very rude. A customer was looking for something they lost, instead of waiting for the end credits to end, they could do it know. I even flip the switch to turn the flood lights off, the secuity guard came and he didn’t he give a crap.
It was a group 17 that came in looking for the seats after the trailers started and rushing to leave and one patron lost something. Instead of waiting until the credits are over, they needed to find it fast to get on their rented charter bus.
I’ve complained to Regal a number of times, but the GM at Sheepshead Bay dosen’t care about the people that want to stay for the end of the film. Other Regal establishments in Manhattan are run a lot better.
Thease ushers need to visit Alamo Drafthouse and see a real movie theatre is run. Ufortately, Cold Pursuit wasn’t playing in Downtown Brooklyn. That my prefered movie theatre in Brooklyn, followed the Nitehawk Propsect Park.

My recent visit when I saw the Equilizer they turn the flood lights on during the credits. I yelled at the manager. He dosen’t care. I reported him to Regal.
Stay out of theatre 8 and 9, those screen do pillarbox at the top of the screen when in scope. Look at fandango, they say the screen number or the Regal app, if you see the seat map with the aisle in the midgle, it 8 or 9. Mostly, the films that are about to be dropped go in their, with the exception of Blindspotting last week. I saw that film at the Alamo Drafthouse, they respect the paying public,.
Unpopular opinion but I liked it better when there was no reserved seating. Me just being able to show up somewhat early and just find a seat I liked is much better to me. However I did notice they stopped turning on lights before the credits were over (thank god). However I notice this theater pillarboxes a ton of their films.
Seating capacities at this theater (via Fandango’s reserved seating service):
Theater 1 – 236 seats
Theater 2 – 290 seats
Theater 3 – 308 seats
Theater 4 – 312 seats
Theater 5 – 201 seats
Theater 6 – 211 seats
Theater 7 – 205 seats
Theater 8 – 145 seats
Theater 9 – 133 seats
Theater 10 – 251 seats (RPX)
Theater 11 – 253 seats
Theater 12 – 302 seats (IMAX)
Theater 13 – 247 seats
Theater 14 – 235 seats
Theaters 8 & 9 do not have stadium seating.
Years ago on busy movies ushers have checked tickets years ago their
The crowds at this particular location really have trouble sitting in their assigned seats. They even had employees check tickets at the door which I had never seen at any other location before.
Theater hopping has been very common there for years. That’s changing now as all the screens have reserved seating.
Reserved seating being expanded to all screens at this location. More people not sitting in their assign seats.
In my last couple of visits, their keeping those flood lights off during the credits. When my letters got to the coporate office, they got the message
Send your complains to the corporate level which will resolve any valid movie goer issues. The manager and assistants cannot be trusted to fix these problems…they are cut from the same cloth as their staff…
Yeah man thats so true. I saw the disaster artist last friday and the lights were on. THEY DIDN’T KNOW THERE WAS A POST CREDITS SCENE. So here I am watching this scene with the light turned on barely being able to see it.
Damn, man, you hit on one of my major pet peeves. It really kills the mood of the movie to be blasted with house lights while the credits are still rolling. Speak to the manager but who knows if it’ll do any good…
