Located in the Barmbek-Nord district to the north of the city. The Gloria Filmtheater was opened on 17th September 1954 and was operated by Otto Peter and Anna & Walter Schutte. It was designed by architect Ewald Pochard. It had the largest CinemaScope screen in Hamburg measuring 13.6 x 6.5 meters. The colour scheme inside the cinema was gold/yellow with a yellow curtain and a stage in front of the screen. The seats were by Kamphoener Bieledeld. The Gloria was equipped with a 4-channel sound system by Klangfilm/Siemens and the B2 projectors were by Bauer Stuttgart. In 1956 the cinema was operated by Anna Schutte Kommandit Gesellschaft. In 1958 it was re-named Gloria Theater.
The Gloria Theater was closed on 12th April 1966. It was demolished and a supermarket now operates on the site.
