I was contacted by the owner in 1994 when it closed for bingo. Jim Schultz removed Caumont Kalee 20 sets with President arcs from the projection box. They were still in nice condition. I was told that it closed for film shows in 1975. Several adverts that I rescued would support that closure was later than 1967. They can be seen (screened at Tyneside Cinema) on my YouTube channel here … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9nZg7kFHqo&t=10s

I am not sure that the date of 1963 for closure is correct. It was still advertising films in 1967. The last date that I can find is 23rd August 1967 although that doesn’t mean that it closed then. It seems to have been showing films for three or four nights a week, so perhaps 1963 was when it went over to bingo part-time.
