American Kino / Theater am Nobistor Hamburg

Located in the city centre district of St. Pauli on the famous Reeperbahn. The American Kino was opened in 1907 by Werner & Giegs Theater lebender Bilder. In 1910 it was operated by Marcus Hirschel and in 1913 his wife Rosa Hirschel took over. She re-named the cinema Teater am Nobistor. In 1920 the theatre was operated by Marie Bunkenburg and in 1931 it was equipped with a Klangfilm sound system. In 1933 it was taken over by Oskar Vogt.

In 1943, the Theater am Nobistor was destroyed by Allied bombs in World War II.
