Located in the city centre district of St. Pauli, in front of the famed Reeperbahn. This was built in 1890 as a pub with live music. The auditorium featured a horseshoe shaped balcony. In 1904 it was named Tivoli Concerthaus. Inspired by the success of Knopf’s Theater lebender Photographien (Knopf’s Theatre of living Pictures) at Spielbudenplatz 19, the Tivoli Concerthaus began screening movies from 1908 and was renamed St. Pauli Tivoli Theater lebender Photographien. It was operated by Peters & Muss until 1917.
In 1925 it was renamed Zillertal and was back in use as a pub with live music again.
In 1991 it was restored and converted into a musical theatre named Schmidt’s Tivoli, inspired and operated by the famous Schmidt’s Theater at Spielbudenplatz 24, owned by Corny Littmann, Ernie Reinhardt, Mario Rispo and since 1990 Jutta Wubbe.
