Electric Theatre

The November 1913 Sanborn shows ‘Moving Pictures’ in a narrow two-story brick building. The lot is vacant on the 1906 map, so it is possible that this was purpose built, although this entire block was filled in with more substantial structures during the same period.

It is likely that the Labor Temple, which was already under construction, put this theatre out of business. In 1920, the building received a new façade, and became a Masonic Lodge, which remains today.

For research/general interest, on maps up to 1913, Main is also known as Alton.
