Nordlicht Filmtheater Hohenfelde

Located in the district of Hohenfelde to the northeast of the city centre. The Nordlicht Filmtheater Hohenfelde was built & opened in 1954 and was designed by architect Herbert Grossner & Professor Stich. It was operated by Bruno & Kurt Ellerbrook who also operated the second Nordlicht Filmbuhne at Friedrich Ebert Damm 30 in Wandsbek. The Hohenfelde cinema had a 13 metres wide CinemaScope screen and 4-channel stereophonic sound. A big hit in April 1958 was Elvis Presley in “Jailhouse Rock. The Nordlicht Filmtheater Hohenfelde was closed in 1964.

By 2019 it was in use as a supermarket, offices and a casino.
