The Galaxy Cinemas opened in North Bay on December 18, 2002. Its seven screens each seat 135, 135, 160, 170, 200, 200 and 302 for a total of 1,302 seats. Cineplex took over ownership of the theatre in 2005.
Four of the screens are capable of showing 3D features and one is a DBOX-equipped screen. The Galaxy Cinemas North Bay also has a location of Cineplex’s Outtakes in-theatre restaurant chain, in addition to serving Yogen Fruz, Pizza Pizza and Starbucks.
