This theatre around the corner from the Basilica of St. John Lateran ran movies and variety acts by 1940 and up until the early-1970’s when it was closed and replaced by a COIN store.

On August 24, 1969 I went to see the Italian movie “Flashback” here.
The theatre appears in the 1960 film “Un amore a Roma” and can be seen in a clip on YouTube.
On May 18, 1940 the Cinema Massimo was showing two Italian films, according to the listings in Il Messaggero. They were “Una gara ai tropici” with Fosco Giachetti and “Frenesia” with Dina Galli.
