Dutch Mill Theatre

The Dutch Mill Theatre held its grand opening on February 18, 1946, based on a front-page report later that week in The Bartlett Tribune.

Variety wrote on July 3, 1946, “H. D. Arrington, a veteran, has opened the Dutch Mill theatre at Holland, first theatre in 20 years for the town. House was built by local biz people who gave a 10-year lease to Arlington.” Mr. & Mrs. Arrington attended the opening of the nearby Stockdale six months later.

The Lynn County (TX) News reported on July 18, 1947, “Truman Hines of Tahoka and Clyde Owens of Lubbock but formerly of Tahoka, have bought the Dutch Mill Theatre at Holland, Bell county, from Ted Waggoner, and Hines is running the business.”
