Opened on March 17, 1972 with Candice Bergen in “T.R. Baskin” & Sean Bury in “Friends”. The Encore Theatre was located in a small building next door to the left of the Fine Arts former Liberty Theatre. It had second run films then eventually Rated X according to locals. It was closed on December 26, 1982 with Roy Scheider in “Still of the Night”.
The building still stands today with the current tenant being Outside In, a locally owned and operated outdoor lifestyle store.

Opened on March 17, 1972 with two X-rated films, closed on December 26, 1982 with “Heidi’s Song” and “Still Of The Night” along with a cartoon matinee.
The Encore launched on March 17, 1972 with “T.R. Baskin” and “Friends“ (not X-rated). Wall Street Theatres, operators of the Fine Arts, found audiences didn’t want an Encore after the December 26, 1982 showing of “Still of the Night.” A cartoon matinee featuring “Heidi’s Song” and assorted cartoons for the kiddies had taken place earlier that day. The venue was still used for occasional events and limited, special purpose screenings thereafter.
