Midway Drive-In

The Mid-Way (or Midway) Drive-In was active by April 1955, when its owner, Foster Hathaway, after an auto accident per a note in Motion Picture Daily. A 1956 handbill described the drive-in as “Midway between Ashtabula and Conneaut”. Famed photographer John Margolies took a picture of the Midway’s marquee in 1977; that photo is in a Library of Congress collection.

The Motion Picture Almanac listed it with a 400-car capacity under Kingsville. It had been demolished by 1982.

A 1982 aerial photo shows the drive-in to be demolished. The only remaining indication is the projection booth/concession stand which is still in place.
