Originally planned to be operated by Cobb Theatres, CMX’s 14th location and second in Georgia opened March 8, 2019, with Barco 4K laser projectors, RealD XL 3D and a digital 7.1 sound system.

Matt Russell, CMX Cinema’s vice president of operations, said in the Daily Post that this is not a theater that serves food, but a restaurant that shows movies. The menu can also be served in the bar or at the recliners, with the after 6pm showings limited to those 21 years and older.

Pieper O'Brien Herr Architects designed Town Center and the exterior of the six-screen, 588-recliner theater holding 90 to 100 patrons each.

CMX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cinemex, the sixth largest cinema chain in the world, with 332 locations and 2,861 screens. It was closed in early-December 2025.

I think the whole concept of food at the movies is outrageous and takes away from the movie going pleasure. By the same token I don’t want my meal compromised by a movie in progress. But in this case it’s a restaurant that shows movies? Over the top.

From the Gwinnet Daily Post The Peachtree Corners Town Center has already endured a rough year in terms of business closures, but 2025 is ending with another bit of bad news for the six-year-old mixed use development. The CMX Cinebistro at the Town Center recently closed its doors, according to a report from Tomorrow’s News Today Atlanta. It is not immediately clear when the theater, which opened in March 2019, shut down but it has already been removed from the CMX Cinebistro website. It is the third major closure in less than six months at the Peachtree Corners Town Center. Lazy Dog closed its restaurant at the development in July, citing parking issues, and Uncle Jack’s Meat House announced its closure in August, although the Uncle Jack’s space had been listed as being up for sale earlier in the year. Like Cinebistro, Lazy Dog had been open for at least six years before it closed while Uncle Jack’s had been open for about four years. The closure of CMX Cinebistro was a bit of a surprise since the chain had been promoting the Peachtree Corners Town Center location on social media as recently as September, touting it as “perfect for date night, a family outing or even a solo treat-yourself night.”

Please update CLOSED and the theatre name is CMX CineBistro Peachtree Corners
