The Victory Theatre opened during World War II in downtown Louisville. It launched with Alice Faye in “Hello, Frisco, Hello”,“ on November 18, 1943 by H.C. Hortman. The theatre had a balcony for African American patrons.

Under new operator Frank B. Pierce, the theatre converted to a Starke Cycloramic Custom Screen for showing immersive widescreen films in March 3, 1953. Unfortunately, the theatre closed at the end of a 10-year lease on October 19, 1953 with June Allyson in “Remains to Be Seen”. The building was retrofitted for the site of the Farmers Exchange Bank.
