Located on Court Square, the Clayton Theatre launched November 14, 1934 after a naming contest just four days prior. Fred T. McLendon and Walter J. Brackin were the operators. It was closed in the late-summer of 1946 and a new Clayton Theater was opened on Midway Street in September 1946 (which has its own page on Cinema Theatres)
