The Gala Theatre launched during World War II in downtown Butler, Alabama on December 23, 1944 by Garvis W. Allen. The theatre launched with Warner Bros. star-studded film “Thank Your Lucky Stars”. In 1954, the theatre converted to widescreen to accommodate CinemaScope presentations.
