The VanSam Theatre was a silent-era theatre in Abbeville, Alabama. The theatre opened as the New Theatre July 27, 1925 with a re-release of “Birth of a Nation”. A contest winner was selected who chose the name VanSam. The theatre remained silent until closure in 1931.
