Appearing on the 1909 Sanborn, this large 3-story building contained a bowling alley on the first floor, movies on the second, and live theater on the third. It may have been built as a replacement for the ‘Excelsior Bowling Academy’, which had a large building on the lot prior to the construction of this one. There were two rows of wooden posts supporting the ceiling. A large staircase in the center of the building must have restricted the depth of the auditoriums. It had closed by 1926.
The building has been truncated somewhat, with about 1/3 (which would have contained the stage) transformed into a parking lot. It now contains a masonic lodge and art gallery.

The missing section collapsed in 1986, due to the trusses being cut during its prior conversion to a warehouse. There are bronze footprints in the sidewalk leading to the former entry in the center of the S Main side, as well as an inscription ‘Temple of Amusement’. The activities were intended not only for the townsfolk, but for the diversion of the large number of tourists who came to relax or take the cure in the various hotels and bathhouses.
