Located in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. The Rex Cinema was certainly active as a cinema between 1955 and 1959. It had a Hortson sound system fitted, 300 seats, and was run by J. Collins. It was listed in the Kine Year Book from 1958 to 1961. The local history society state that it was taken over in the 1960’s by Harry Murphy, Peter Ryder and John F. Staunton and closed in the 1970’s. It was located in a building known as the Old Power House which was subsequently demolished for apartments.
