Based in the city centre at Plymouth College of Art, Plymouth Arts Cinema is a continuation of the film programme previously offered by Plymouth Arts Centre. That had been founded in 1947, but closed in December 2018. (See separate entry.)
Andrew Brewerton, chair of the Arts Centre’s Board of Trustees, was also the principal of Plymouth College of Art, providing a useful link.
Plymouth Arts Cinema opened on Friday 11th January 2019 with “Stan & Ollie”, the Laurel & Hardy biopic starring Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly.
