Below history credit D. Troy Sherrod via his book “Historic Dallas Theatres” by Arcadia Publishing.
“Opened in 1916 as part of Ed Foy’s Neighborhood Theatre chain, the 550 seat Ideal Theatre was popular with children & adults alike. During World War I, the theatre invited recently returned servicemen to speak about their experiences "over there”.
On October 26 1928, a fire blazed through the Ideal Theatre, igniting reels of nitrate film & collapsing the roof. The building was repaired & has been used for various purposes, but never again as a theatre."
Dallas Carpet & Fine Floors is the current tenant as of June 2018. Street view shows the original facade intact and nicely painted.
