The Tower Drive-In was opened by September 25, 1951 when it was operated by Hollis Boren. It was still open as late as 1985. Only remains are the ramps which are extremely faint.

A closer address is TX-256 & Co Rd C, Memphis, TX. The drive-in was located about a ½ mile W/SW of the intersection indicated on the map on the south side.
Today, a private residence sits on the property with only the faint outlines of the ramps visible just to the west and south of the house.

The Memphis Democrat newspaper shows that Bill Boren, the son of Hollis Boren opened the Drive-in Theater in Memphis, Texas. The name “Tower” was selected by judges as the name of Hall County’s new drive-in theater. Leroy Beavers submitted the name and won a lifetime pass to the drive-in. The Tower Drive-in was open by September 25, 1951. Lyndon Craven purchased Tower Drive-in in Memphis in November of 1976.
