Marcus Theatres launched the Marc Cinema I & II as the chain’s 83d theatre. It opened June 29, 1979 with Nick Mancuso in “Nightwing” and Barbra Streisand in “The Main Event.” It closed on August 7, 1988 with Paul Reubens in “Big Top Pee Wee” and Tami Erin in “The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.” The following week, a salvage sale offered anything one wanted as the theatre was being deconstructed. A Target store now stands on the site.
