The Delta Theatre was a mainstay in downtown Oakdale for decades. The $100,000 theatre by Joe M. Guillory seated 700 on the main floor and had a balcony for 200. The Delta Theatre launched June 23, 1948 with Mickey Rooney in “Summer Holiday”. The theatre closed after a January 23, 1995 showing of “The Jungle Book”. The building was offered for sale later that year and was eventually incorporated into the Mowad Civic Center complex in 1997. It was used as office space and by 2021 was in retail use.
